Michael D. Oesterle

Michael "Mike" D. Oesterle is a Partner in the Labor and Employment Section and is Head of the Construction Law Section of King & Ballow in Nashville, Tennessee. His practice areas include Labor and Employment Law, Labor Negotiations, NLRB Litigation, NLRB Election Campaigns, OSHA Compliance and Litigation, Construction Contract Negotiations and Litigation, Prevailing Wage Compliance and Litigation, Arbitrations and Alternate Dispute Resolution.

Mike received his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where he graduated magna cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he graduated cum laude. While attending law school, he was the Note and Comment Editor of the Wisconsin International Law Journal. He is a member of the Employment Law Sections of the Wisconsin, Tennessee and American Bar Associations, a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and a member of the Construction Law Sections of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations.

Mike represents clients in construction, government contracting, trucking, broadcasting, newspaper and book publishing, printing, and steel processing. His practice in these and other industries focuses on all areas of Labor and Employment Law, including Labor Organizing, Labor Negotiations, Occupational Safety and Health Consultation, Prevailing Wage Compliance and Associated Litigation. He has conducted seminars and in-housing training for clients throughout the country.

Mike has been recognized in the Employment Law-Management area in the The Best Lawyers in America magazine each year since 2013. He was also selected as one of the top lawyers by SuperLawyers Mid-South magazine. For each of the past 19 years, including 2022, Mike has been awarded the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating of "AV Preeminent," which is the highest level of professional excellence.  He serves as one of King & Ballow’s two points of contact for Meritas, an international affiliation of law firms in 200 markets in the United States and worldwide.
